Last Day

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Today was an eventful day. The biggest event probably was the event which marked the ending of an evil eventful month. I do not intend to bore my readers with flamboyantly mundane words such as ‘Events’ and ‘Probabilities’, just some of the after effects of the illness which has passed by after the last of my papers, Probability & Statistics. A lot has been said and (done?) about my finals, in fact I may have written more in one post than in all the seven papers combined.

The other thing that brightened my day was meeting a couple of old friends of mine. Close friends whom I hadn’t met for several months and whom I cannot meet again for several months. The few hours I spend there were amazing. Thanks guys, for being there.Though I would wish they understand it is not possible to remember the exact location of every shop in the second largest mall of the world Even though I may believe their claims that they know the whole of Gurgaon’s malls at the back of their head.

PS: I had written a longer post, and forgot to save the complete post. Quite ironically it mentioned me not wanting to sleep as it was the last day of the semester. Also because I feared that I miss my flight back home. Anyways, I did sleep and am presently using Dubai Airport’s free WiFi. Things look bright. Clear skies, pleasant weather in the offing. Tada Tada, life’s good. The last day, feels like the first day of my life.

Merry Christmas !

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Things are not going well at all at the moment. They do not go well at all if you are calculating the amount of compression undergone by a spring going through forced oscillations while the rest of the world is celebrating Christmas. Yes I had a frigging Physics paper, while you were all eating Plum cakes.

To the list of the things I hate about Dubai, kindly add no holidays in here. I had just one holiday since the day I came here. This is just not fair to a guy who has lived with ( or should I say because of? ) holidays. When all sorts of people die or are born. Or when a God is born. Or when a God kills demons or when Gods come back after forced adventure trips in forests. And still if people think they have not had enough, some politicians would announce a strike, hartal or a bandh. Why? So that people celebrate their birthdays and deaths as holidays after they die.

Meanwhile Varun Vohra, has just set up a blog of his own. Give him a visit, I expect many thoughtful posts from him.

So as you still are celebrating Christmas, I am going to study the vibrational modes of molecules and wonder whether the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics actually concerns marks which tend to zero. Uncle Santa surely is an unfair fat git.

The blog currently is in a state of coma. Severely affected by a disease called ‘Comprehensive Examination Fever’ or ‘Comprees’ (In Bits Dubai circles). Comes in various forms such as ‘Majors’, ‘Minors, ‘Terms’, ‘Boards’ etc in other places. Most commonly called ‘Exam Fever’. Situation worsened by not studying previously. Studying as many hours as possible is seriously advised. It is expected that the coma will last till the end of this month. The blog may see a couple of posts as there is still a week to go before the fever reaches it peak. Conditon worsens with time. Wishing luck may or may not help, but no harm in doing so. Luckily for the blog, the infirmiry has a fixed duration.

Signs of recovery are easily identifiable and usually last till vacations last. Patient may have minor weekly relapses in the course of the next four years; due the numerous components he has while studying in BITS, Pilani-Dubai Campus (BPDC). Blog should be able to sustain the mino relapses till the next mojor attack of the mentioned disease; which shall be quite a while from now. Advised to stay away from people who have high CGPAs as it can cause temporary depression.

Symptoms of being infected include reduction in watching any movies and or TV series, addiction to coffee, turning nocturnal, cribbing about wasting time even while writing this. Since this is also normally followed by vacations, a tendencing of counting the number of days to recovery is not uncommon. In severe cases, patients found even to count hours in initial cases. This may reach to minutes (and) or seconds in the final phases.

Immunity to this is possible by repeatedly maintaining a low CGPA, but is not advised since it may cause terminal illness in several forms.

It is hoped that friends and fellow bloggers co-operate by understanding the needs of the patient.

Blog Author- “Hear n’ There ”

PS: To the symptoms mentioned, add certain urge to write name of institution in full, alongwith name. The first fact seems to have a relation concerning the disease. The second perhaps may be due to this blog not being the first hit on google when searched with “Aditya Anand” (Both with or without quotes). Though this is an indicaton of one of the many psychological diseases Aditya Anand has, this seems normal since this disease can result in mental imbalances too. In this case the mental instability of the patient ie. Aditya Anand has just already added to his normal levels of (in)stability. It also has a profound impact on the patient to write short sentences than the stringy ones that he is so fondly writing with no intention to check what he is writing or how garbled his sentences are or just that he may be writing one for the heck of it as he really want to convey that he is not well. This cannot be elaborated upon because Aditya Anand just suffered from an attack of the same disease while he- Aditya Anand was…………….
